The house was built in 1930 on a property granted to Mr. K.V. Joseph Pottamkulam by the Poonjar chieftains, on a title deed dated 1926 and handed down to his legacies. Mr. Kurian and Anuja is your host. The architecture is a popular style indigenous to Kerala Christian homes in 1920- 30s The property’s title is said to have been specially granted to the owners by M E Watts the Dewan of Travancore(1925- 1929) who had a good deal of connection with the family.

The property is situated in the middle of the highly prosperous rubber growing belt of Kanjirapally The home is shaded by old and huge Mahagony, Mango, Mangostine, Nutmeg and Clove trees.
