The summer retreat of the Travancore rulers in Peermade was built in 1925 by Sethu Lakshmi Bhai, the Regent and the interim ruler to the throne (1924 – 1931). It was named Indiramandiram (Mansion of the lord Indira)

Lovingly known locally as the Ammachi Kottaram,(the palace of the queen mother) is built upon the ghaut at Glenrock Estate ,opened by J D Munro ,the most striking name in the annals of plantation history in Peermade and Munnar

Your host Michael and Mariamma are senior members of the prominent plantation family in central Travancore.

The architecture of the bungalow is a curious Travancore style with colonial structuring, placed within a clearing commanding views of the valley, majestic mountains, finely manicured tea and undulating green meadow.

Here you have lovely tree house overlooking the reservoir and the canoes at the lake just a walk away from the home is an ideal place to spend a lot of time fishing or relaxing just to be in your privacy enjoying the tranquil settings.








Accommodation
The bungalow offers one bedroom in the main house and a two bedroom cottage (Misty mountain cottage) with modern amenities and period furniture.

Food Service
The home is known for imaginative cooking, which serve continental or Authentic Kerala cuisines sourced mostly from their farmyards –organic and unique, specially the large curry meal served on banana leaf .The unique Malanellu rice –from paddy grown on the hills
